The American School of Belo Horizonte was founded in 1956 and is a non-profit independent day school offering a college preparatory education. Our students are prepared to continue their education at the university level, whether it is in the United States, Brazil or elsewhere. Although the emphasis is on academic achievement, we strive to motivate each individual to reach his or her highest potential, as well as stimulate our students to be independent, life-long learners.

At the high school, individual counseling is provided to students with educational and/or personal concerns. In addition, regular career and college orientation and counseling sessions are scheduled. College placement is of primary concern to the secondary counselor. Credits for graduation are earned in grades 9 through 12. The High School program is college preparatory, and each student is required to carry a full load of five major subjects (English, History, Mathematics, Science, Foreign Language) and Physical Education. Students in grades 9-12 have a 45-hour community service graduation requirement. Students in grades 9 to 12 are promoted based upon the completion of a specific number of credits.

The British School, founded in 1924, is a non-profit, independent and co-educational day school located in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. We offer a complete and coherent curriculum for British, Commonwealth, other expatriate and Brazilian pupils who will benefit from an English language education. The school caters for pupils aged 2 to 18.

Founded in 1960, the Pan American School of Bahia (PASB) is cooperatively owned by parents and operates as a non-profit, non-denominational, college-preparatory institution for American, International and Brazilian students. The academic program includes Early Childhood Education (ECE) for 3 and 4 year old children, an elementary unit (kindergarten-5), a middle school (6-8) and a four-year high school (9-12). The School is maintained by a non-profit Foundation and is registered with the educational authorities of the State of São Paulo according to Federal and State legislation as the Escola Britânica de São Paulo. The Foundation and the School are under the responsibility of a Board of Governors whose members are appointed by representatives (or trustees) of the British community. The overall task of the Board of Governors is to ensure that the School runs successfully and smoothly in accordance with its stated aims. The Board of Governors meets approximately once per month and is responsible for overseeing general educational policy, development of infrastructure and financial control.
