How to become a nurse in US: all about CGFNS, CES and NCLEX

CGFNS
Please contact CGFNS (Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing School) that can verify your medical diploma or other documents if you studied not in US. After evaluation of your data, this commission will issue CES (Credential Evaluation Service) document.

NCLEX
If you successfully passed first two steps, you can prepare for this last test on your way to become a registered US nurse.

NCLEX-RN for registered nurses while NCLEX-PN is developed for practical or vocational nurses. These exams should check on knowledge and ability to work as nurse safely and efficiently.

Test can take up to 6 hours and it’s adaptive one. Depending on how well you answer questions, their number change from 75 to 265. There are given answers of multiple choice. The topics of questions are related to nursing and daily routine like Health Promotion and Maintenance, Safe Effective Care Environment, pharmacological therapies, psychosocial integrity and so on.
