The Republic reports on parent outreach by the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation for their summer ESL classes. The ESL staff have put together an interactive CD designed to introduce immigrant parents to the program and to help them feel at ease. The parent liaisons also put together a Parents’ Day for families to visit the classrooms. More than 150 people attended the event at Clifty Creek
Elementary School on Wednesday. Parent Laura Palamino visited her sons’ classroom, where she helped him sort and count candies. “It’s very important because you can see how they work in the classroom,” she said.
