Piers Fuller reports on Refugee Voices, a new publication designed to teach high school students about the experiences of refugees. The book and CD kit is produce by Wellington’s Global Education Centre, and was compiled by Pania Walton, a long-time volunteer ESL teacher. “I think there’s a lot prejudice and misconceptions about refugees and we hope that this resource will help to reduce preconceptions
and really give people a clear idea of what refugees lives really are like,” said Walton. Although other similar resources are available, Refugee Voices is unique in the way that it highlights the stories of refugees in their own words.
