The Brantford Expositor reports on multilingual summer offerings from the Brantford Public Library. The library is hosting the ESL Read On club on Saturday mornings, a drop-in event with literacy games and activities designed to help children keep up with their English skills over the summer break. The library also has access to books from the Southern Ontario Multilingual Pool (SOMP) which provides

books in multiple languages to a number of libraries across the state. SOMP delivers books in Arabic, Chinese, Dutch, Hungarian, Korean, Panjabi, Persian/Farsi, Polish, Spanish, and Vietnamese. As well as the SOMP supplement, the Brantford library has books in a number of languages in its permanent collection, including resources in Arabic, Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Gujarati, Hindi, Hungarian, Italian, Korean, Panjabi, Polish, Russian, Spanish, Urdu and Vietnamese, as well as video materials (many with English subtitles) in several languages.
